The first round of 2017 Oracle NetSuite Open main draw play saw seven of the eight men’s and women’s seeds progress to the quarterfinals, with Peru’s Diego Elias and India’s Dipika Pallikal Karthik pulling off the sole upsets Tuesday at Bay Club San Francisco, Bay Club Redwood Shores and the University Club of San Francisco.

The traditional courts made for close matches throughout the three clubs.
